RCTs, Health Economics, and Real-World Policy with Harvard’s Dr. Jessica L. Cohen

The Junior Economic Club of New York City is proud to welcome Professor Jessica L. Cohen of the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health for a discussion about how economists use randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to identify effective programs and policies on Tuesday, May 26, at 6:00 PM.

Drawing on her fieldwork spanning the United States and East Africa, Dr. Cohen will examine how rigorous impact evaluation can reveal the most effective health economics policies and how their findings inform governments, health systems, and international organizations. As Dr. Cohen illuminates how this methodology can be applied to urgent questions in current health policies, attendees will get the opportunity to see how complex economic thought moves beyond theory to produce consequential findings.

The talk will be followed by a short Q&A with Professor Cohen! Please take a look at some of Dr. Cohen's previous publications if you get the chance to have a better idea of her work before the event.
